On Saturday, 17th of February, the highly anticipated unification fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will finally happen! We’ve waited too long!

WBC champion Fury will look to wrestle the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles away from Usyk to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since British legend Lennox Lewis, over two decades ago.

After so much hype, the two contrasting styles of Orthodox and Southpaw are finally meeting, much to the delight of us at Man5hit and boxing fans around the world, Fury and Usyk will now look to top the 1974 Rumble in the Jungle as boxing’s biggest-ever event.

Usyk retained his titles with a ninth-round stoppage, but controversy arose in the fifth round when a punch from Dubois, deemed a low blow, caused Usyk to drop to the canvas. The disputed ruling adds an element of controversy to the match’s outcome.

Ahead of their ‘Ring of Fire’ clash, Usyk watched Fury get knocked down by Ngannou before taking a controversial split decision win over the MMA star. Fury may benefit from his lacklustre performance against Ngannou, waking him up to the realisation he can’t just turn up and win. Especially against an accomplished boxer such as Usyk.

We all know Tyson loves showmanship and trash talk. During the pairs press conference, Usyk seemed pretty unmoved with the Fury verbal onslaught. At Man5hit we couldn’t resist quoting Fury:

“His bollocks have shrivelled up now they have, little sausage, a sissy with an earring in, you fucking pussy! Getting knocked spark out!”

Fury personifies “marmite”, now we’re not saying we love or hate him, but at Man5hit we believe Fury, with his size advantage and footwork ability, will be too much for Usyk. Though we’re sure there will be twists and turns throughout the bout and should be an epic encounter.
